“It was with sadness that I learned of the death of Giorgos Stefanou, father of Mr. Stefanos Stefanou, General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL,” the President of the Republic said in a written statement.

“He passed away at a ripe old age, longing to return to his beloved Gerolakko, where he raised his family with his wife, Aliki,” the President noted.
