The appointment of Dimitris Dimitriou, former Deputy Chief of Police and current candidate in the 2026 parliamentary elections, as Special Advisor on Public Safety and Crisis Management.
The priority, as the party’s President noted, is for citizens to feel safe in their homes, in their neighborhoods, and in their daily lives.
“We can achieve this through serious and substantive policies for both crisis prevention and management,” said Ms. Dimitriou, thanking the former Deputy Chief of Police for his contribution to the election results, noting that his experience and knowledge can make a substantial contribution to DISY’s efforts and explaining that the proposals to be submitted will be crucial and substantive.
For his part, Mr. Dimitriou noted that after a long career in the police force, his experience and knowledge can be put to good use for the benefit of DISY. Public safety and crisis management, he said, are not matters of partisan conflict but of responsibility, and they require serious planning centered on the protection of citizens.
Finally, Mr. Dimitriou assured that he would do his utmost to contribute to the development of modern and practical policy proposals.
