Maria Panagiotou is standing at the exit door of the Cabinet meeting. Speaking on Omega TV’s program “Enimerosi Tora,” Deputy Government Spokesperson Yiannis Antoniou confirmed reports that Ms. Panagiotou is one of the figures who will be at the center of the upcoming cabinet reshuffle, as she has accepted an appointment in Secondary Education.
“With great certainty,” he noted, “at this moment, the fact before us is that the Minister of Agriculture, who has accepted an appointment in Education, will have to be replaced. Beyond that, I cannot share with you any other thoughts the President of the Republic may have, because I am not aware of them either.”
When asked whether a successor to the Minister of Agriculture had been identified, Mr. Antoniou replied that he did not know.
