Israeli media reported on Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit to Cyprus as confirmation of the upgraded strategic relationship between Israel–Cyprus, Israeli media covered Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit to Nicosia, with particular emphasis on Cyprus’s geopolitical significance and Mr. Herzog’s hope for a future trilateral meeting with the President of Lebanon.

i24NEWS framed the visit squarely “against the backdrop of tensions with Turkey,” linking it to efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation. At the same time, it highlighted Cyprus as a critical strategic asset for Israel and not merely as a neighboring tourist destination. Maariv portrayed the visit as a move to strengthen relations and expand cooperation.

The Times of Israel, Israel Hayom, Channel 14, and Srugim focused on Herzog’s statement that he envisions a meeting in Cyprus with the presidents of the Republic of Cyprus and Lebanon. They also noted that Isaac Herzog argued that the region must move toward peace while simultaneously eliminating terrorism.

They also reported that President Nikos Christodoulides spoke about further deepening the strategic partnership in the areas of security, defense, energy, trade, and tourism. Special mention was made of the more than 200 weekly flights between the two countries during the summer season, compared to approximately 140 previously.
