From the Convention Center, where for six months the heart of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union beat, the curtain has fallen, in the presence of hundreds of government officials, volunteers, and all those who were part of this journey that began about 2.5 years ago. “About 2.

5 years ago, when we set out on this journey, I said that the success of the Cypriot Presidency would lie in its people, in Nicosia and Brussels. But we have proven that what matters is not square kilometers. It is what we bring to the table.” Marilena Raouna, Deputy Minister for European Affairs

Over the past six months, the Cypriot Presidency has managed to achieve significant results in a number of areas. From defense, security, competitiveness, and enlargement to the new Multiannual Financial Framework.

The Presidency held by little Cyprus, the only European Union member state under occupation, is recognized as one of the most substantive and productive in recent years, Nikos Christodoulides noted. In posts on the “X” platform, the heads of European institutions once again thanked the Republic of Cyprus.
