The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, said he hopes to have another 2–3 meetings with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhurman, before traveling to New York later this month for the United Nations General Assembly.
The President was speaking during his meeting on Monday morning with the mayor and members of the Morphou Municipal Council. Welcoming them to the Presidential Palace, the President of the Republic said, “This meeting is important, both before and after my trip to New York and the meetings I will have with the Turkish Cypriot leader.”
He noted that he would meet again on Wednesday with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhurman. “I hope we’ll have another 2–3 meetings before we go to New York,” he added.
“I’ll keep you updated; let me know what you’re planning, and we’ll see how we can move forward together,” the President concluded.
