UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhurman, during the UN Secretary-General’s upcoming visit to Cyprus.
The first meeting will take place on Tuesday evening, July 28, during a private dinner at the residence of the UN Special Representative in Cyprus, while the second will take place on Wednesday morning, July 29, at the offices of the UN Good Offices Mission, located in the area of Nicosia Airport under UN control.
António Guterres will arrive in Cyprus on Monday evening, July 27, accompanied by Deputy Secretaries-General Rosemary DiCarlo and Jean-Pierre Lacroix. The Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy, María Ángela Olguín, will also be on the island.
According to information from CNA, on Tuesday morning, July 28, Mr. Guterres will meet at 10:30 a.m. with President Nicos Christodoulides and at 11:45 a.m. with Tufan Erhurman.

At noon on the same day, he will lay a wreath at the memorial to fallen peacekeepers outside the Ledra Palace, and in the early afternoon, he will visit the CMP’s Anthropological Laboratory. He will then hold meetings with the negotiators, the heads of the bicommunal Technical Committees, and representatives of civil society.
The private dinner with the two leaders on Tuesday evening will not be covered by the media, according to the same sources.
On the morning of Wednesday, July 29, the UN Secretary-General will hold a joint meeting with the two leaders at the Good Offices Mission offices at Nicosia Airport. This will be followed by a press conference with Mr. Guterres before he departs Cyprus with his delegation.
This is the first visit by a UN Secretary-General to Cyprus since February 2010, when Ban Ki-moon visited the island and met with the then-leaders Dimitris Christofias and Derviş Eroğlu.
