The Anti-Corruption Authority has come forward to provide clarification regarding the investigation into the book *State Mafia*.
The Authority issued a statement on the matter, noting that it is providing clarifications “issues regarding positions and statements that tend to call into question the validity and impartiality of the process followed prior to the launch of the investigation into the book —*State Mafia*—and, by extension, the validity of the Final Report of the Inspectors as approved by the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority.”
While providing clarifications regarding the process for selecting Ms. Gabrielle McIntyre as Head of
the Investigation, it emphasizes that “the Authority examined the allegations raised regarding an alleged conflict of interest involving Ms. McIntyre and finds that no such issue exists.”
