The stage for the Cyprus issue is being set in Ankara and at the NATO summit, with the possibility of rapid developments in the coming 24 hours now on the horizon.

At least, according to Turkish analysts, who believe that Erdogan will be cornered regarding Cyprus, particularly on the issues of security and guarantees.

Amid the pressure on the Turkish president not to back down, there is, as expected, the view that the proposals to be put forward regarding Cyprus constitute a diabolical plan by Donald Trump, the Greeks, and, of course, Israel—which is not a NATO member state but is a close partner of the alliance.

In the occupied territories, tensions have reached a fever pitch regarding the various scenarios for the Cyprus issue.

The most provocative figure is Erhan Arikli, one of the assassins of Tassos Isaac and the so-called “Minister of Transportation.”
