Andri Hatzandreou was elected the new deputy mayor of Aglantzia in the by-election held on Sunday.
According to the Office of the Supervisor of the By-Election for Deputy Mayor, voting concluded smoothly at 6:00 p.m. at all polling stations, without any problems.
A total of 4,210 voters cast their ballots, representing a turnout of 27.73% of all registered voters.
Once the votes were counted, Andri Hatzandreou was elected as the new deputy mayor, receiving 2,309 votes, or 55.49%.
Her opponent was Prokopis Prokopiou, who received 1,852 votes, or 44.51%.

Now that the by-election for the position of Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia has concluded, I would like to congratulate Ms. Andri Hatzandreou on her election.
I warmly thank all those who supported my candidacy. I am here and will continue to be here for our Aglantzia and the greater Municipality of Nicosia.
It should be noted that there were 15,182 registered voters, and the abstention rate stood at 72.27%.
The announcement will take place at the Nicosia District Administration Offices on Monday at 11:00 a.m.
The position of Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia became vacant following the resignation of Andreas Konstantinou, who won a seat in Parliament with DISY in the parliamentary elections on May 24.
