Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhurman, and the “foreign minister” of the pseudo-state, Tahsin Ertugruloglu.
The Turkish newspaper Hürriyet cites sources at the Turkish Foreign Ministry who reported that the meetings took place, but does not specify whether Mr. Fidan met with the two Turkish Cypriot politicians jointly or separately.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ertuğruloğlu met yesterday with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Cheikhun Bayramov in New York, and they discussed “bilateral issues” and regional developments.
Ertuğruloglu also participated in the Informal Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
According to the Turkish news agency Anadolu, Mr. Ertuğruloğlu participated in an informal meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Turkic States held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to prepare for the 13th Summit of the, which will take place in Ankara on October 29–30.
At the meeting, it is reported, views were exchanged on global and regional issues concerning the Turkic world, and matters related to improving the OTS’s institutional cooperation with international organizations were discussed.
