The Deputy Minister of Culture, Ms. Klea Papaellina, visited the Lembas Cultural Village, expressing her satisfaction with the new momentum being generated and the significant prospects opening up for the site.
The Deputy Minister’s visit took place at a significant time for the Cultural Village, as recently, specifically on July 9, an agreement was signed between the Deputy Ministry of Culture and Technourgeio Ltd. regarding the management and operation of the site.
The goal is to further develop the Cultural Village as a contemporary space for creativity, culture, and education, with an emphasis on promoting contemporary visual arts, by hosting artists from abroad and organizing related activities, as well as fostering cultural literacy through programs for students.
The approximately 1,800-square-meter space, which includes workshops, a library, and guest accommodations, will be utilized to develop cultural and educational programs. At the same time, the goal is to foster collaborations with cultural organizations and academic institutions, as well as with entities active in the fields of education, tourism, and promotion.
Technourgeio Ltd., which is responsible for the management and operation of the Cultural Village, has significant experience in the fields of business administration, hospitality, and food service.
The initial response from the cultural community was also particularly significant. During the informational meeting with cultural organizations and artists, held on July 28 at the Deputy Ministry of Culture, there was a clear expression of great interest and a willingness to collaborate and participate in the Cultural Village’s activities.
In this context, Clea Papaellina emphasized the importance of the support provided by the Community Leader of Lemba, Mr. Thoukis Chrysostomou, and his dedication to promoting the community’s cultural development.
At the same time, she expressed her gratitude to the project’s architects, Mr. Spyros Th. Spyrou, Mr. Haris Christodoulou, and Mr. Haris Solomos, who created a high-quality, modern cultural infrastructure that respects the character and identity of Lemba.
“I am particularly pleased with this new vision for the Lemba Cultural Village. It is a space with significant potential, where contemporary visual arts, cultural education, and the local community can come together and create new synergies,” stated the Deputy Minister of Culture.
The Deputy Ministry of Culture looks forward to the further development of the Lembas Cultural Village and to establishing it as a vibrant hub of culture, creativity, education, and collaboration.
