He reiterated his readiness to move forward with the Cyprus process, as well as his hope that all parties involved will demonstrate the same political will and positive response.
“We hope,” President Christodoulides said, “that the convergence document will be ready as soon as possible so that it can be presented to both sides in Cyprus and to the guarantor powers.” Noting that the negotiating acquis must be safeguarded, the President emphasized that, based on this document, an expanded conference could be convened, during which the resumption of negotiations on the outstanding issues could also be announced.
