The spotlight is focused on pindarou

Averoff’s announcement and his appeal to concerned party members brought relief to Pindarou, at least until the internal party elections. On the Alpha Kalimera show, his opponent, George Pamporidis, appeared satisfied with Averof Neophytou’s stance, which he hopes Neophytou will maintain until the end.

GEORGE PAMPORIDIS—DISY Member of Parliament: “It
would be unthinkable for someone who has entered this process to run on his own in the presidential election if he loses.”

He made these remarks while commenting on Anastasiades’ proposal regarding a potential alliance with Christodoulides in the event that the DISY candidate fails to advance to the second round.

GIORGOS PAMPORIDIS—DISY Member of Parliament: “Anyone
outside DISY who wishes to have DISY’s support must find ways to restore relations.”

He speaks with displeasure of those who make such remarks, which do not contribute to fostering unity. Among them is Yiannis Karousos, with his repeated remark about those who are playing both sides—with Pindarou and the Presidency.

GIORGOS PAMPORIDIS—DISY Member of Parliament: “Let
Karousos clarify what he means, because he’s gone too far. We’re not helping to overcome introversion with these statements.”

AKEL has also joined the presidential dance, with every public statement now taking on a pre-election tone. Stefanos Stefanou refers to the need for the country to move forward guided by progressive change and to turn the page, extending a hand toward cooperation with other political forces.

STEFANOS STEFANOU—AKEL Secretary-General: “We are not going to close this
chapter that began with the Left’s presidency in 2008. It remains open, even though experience has shown that in the world we live in, a Left-wing government faces major challenges and dilemmas that are difficult to address without the collective effort and unity of the progressive forces in the country.”

During the presentation of the book marking the 100th anniversary of the KKK-AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou spoke about all the presidential candidates he had supported in collaboration with other parties, which is why he is once again investing in partnerships.
