Our state, the Republic of Cyprus, is our most significant achievement, President of the Republic Nicos Christodoulides emphasizes in a post on the “X” platform.

Today, he notes, marks 66 years since the proclamation of the Republic of Cyprus, “the pinnacle of our country’s long history, the result of our people’s long-standing struggles, which culminated in the national liberation and anti-colonial struggle of EOKA that ultimately led to independence.”

“Our State, the Republic of Cyprus, is our most significant achievement. Respecting, protecting, and continuously strengthening its existence, as well as reinforcing all its sources of strength, both domestically and internationally, are our highest priority,” the President emphasizes.

Domestically, he continues, “by strengthening our security and economy through policies that modernize our state and continuously improve the quality of life for all citizens, and also on the international stage, by strengthening the presence and standing of the Republic of Cyprus so that it is treated with respect as a reliable and creative partner.”

It is within this framework, the President notes, “that, being clearly stronger, we will be able to genuinely pursue the long-cherished goal of liberation, the end of the Turkish occupation, and the reunification of our homeland.”

“Through a solution that will be functional and sustainable and will offer new prospects and hope, new horizons in conditions of peace and security. Above all, the Republic of Cyprus,” he concludes.
