The Department announced the call for proposals for the “Plan to Support Cultural Activities of Religious Groups” for the year 2026 was announced by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
According to the Deputy Ministry’s announcement, the goal of the Program is to provide financial support for cultural activities organized by Armenian, Latin, and Maronite communities, and which “contribute to the preservation and promotion of the cultural identity of each religious community in the various fields of cultural creation: literature, music, theater, film, the visual arts, folk culture, and dance.”
“Every community holds a precious thread in the tapestry of Cypriot identity. Through this Plan, we support the creative expression of religious groups so that their memories, traditions, and contemporary voices may continue to illuminate our shared cultural landscape, inspiring dialogue, understanding, and cohesion,” stated Deputy Minister of Culture Klea Papaellina.
According to the announcement, the Plan provides grants for cultural activities carried out by the Offices of the Representatives of the three Religious Groups and by organizations representing the three Religious Groups.
The program’s objectives include promoting Cyprus’s cultural identity through initiatives that strengthen cultural pluralism and serve as a catalyst for achieving social cohesion.
Applications will be accepted only through the grants4arts.cy digital platform, starting September 1, 2026.
Submitted applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a three-member Evaluation Committee.
The deadline for submitting applications is September 27, 2026.
