The bill on the status of artists will be reviewed by a group of European experts before being resubmitted to Parliament, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Vasiliki Kassianidou, and the Director General of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, Giorgos Papageorgiou, speaking at a meeting with cultural editors in Nicosia.

The Director General of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, George Papageorgiou, said that, to this end, a meeting with European experts will be held in mid-July, adding that the bill is already being translated into English so that the experts can review it and submit their recommendations. 

Ms. Kassianidou also noted that by the end of this week, the “Nostos” sponsorship program “Nostos,” which is aimed at the occupied communities and their associations, with the goal of preserving the memory of the occupied territories, will be presented by the end of this week.

At the same time, she noted that on July 9, the agreement to assign the management of the Lemba Cultural Village will be signed, with artists from Paphos set to take over.

Finally, the Deputy Minister of Culture denied a media report claiming that she had expressed to the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, her intention to resign, emphasizing that any decision regarding changes to the government’s composition rests solely with the President.
