Israeli President Isaac Herzog is visiting Cyprus today at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides.
Mr. Herzog will be received at the Presidential Palace by President Christodoulides, with whom he will hold a private meeting to discuss ways to further deepen cooperation and strengthen Cyprus-Israel relations.
As stated in a press release from the Israeli Presidency, the visit is part of the ongoing cooperation and regular contacts between the two Presidents, with the aim of further developing Cyprus-Israel relations.
Meanwhile, due to the Israeli President’s visit to Cyprus, the police announced that enhanced security measures would be implemented.
According to a statement, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, brief road closures lasting a few minutes will take place at intervals in the Larnaca District, on the Larnaca-Nicosia Highway and in the Nicosia district.
In addition, a protest rally is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. against the visit of the President of Israel,organized outside the Presidential Palace by the Pan-Cyprian Peace Council together with other anti-war activist organizations.
