At 10 a.m., Marios Karoyan, Nikos Anastasiou, and Stavros Papadouris, who met with Nicos Christodoulides and were briefed on developments regarding the Cyprus issue.
The meeting was arranged following the recent session of the National Council on the same issue and in the wake of the non-participation of EDEK, the Ecologists, and DIPA due to the results of the May parliamentary elections.
The President of the Republic referred to the discussions that took place during last night’s meeting between Ursula von der Leyen and António Costa with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inand on the sidelines of the NATO Summit.
The three party leaders emphasized the need for Turkey to demonstrate the necessary willingness to take positive steps on the Cyprus issue if it wishes to see progress in EU-Turkey relations.
