The newly elected party leader, Sofia Christodoulou-Makri, arrived early this morning at the office of the EDEK President, to officially assume the duties entrusted to her by 1,191 supporters of the Social Democratic Movement during the election held last Saturday. Appearing on the Alpha Enimerosi program, she said that her primary goal is hard work, dedication, and unity so that the leadership, collective bodies, and party members can come together at the electoral convention this coming December to elect new officials.
“Our door is open; nothing we do is for the sake of one person or the name ‘Sophia.’ EDEK must stop talking about expulsions and reinstatements and start talking about politics.”
