Andri Hatzandreou made her first public statement following her election as Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia, expressing her gratitude to the residents for the trust they placed in her during Sunday’s by-election.

In a post on social media, she referred to it as a “great honor,” while emphasizing that her election is above all a “responsibility” to work with all her strength for Aglantzia.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I thank the residents of Aglantzia for their trust and support. My election as Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia is a great honor for me, but above all, it is a responsibility to work with all my strength for our community.

I would like to extend my warmest thanks to AKEL, EDEK, ALMA, DIPA, the Ecologists’ Movement – Citizens’ Cooperation, the Green Party, the Independent Movement of Aglantzia Residents, the organized citizen groups of Aglantzia, as well as the individuals who supported this effort.

I would also like to thank my opponent, Prokopis Prokopiou, for the campaign. Our Aglantzia needs all of us.

Aglantzia is the place we love. But it is also the place that, together, we can make better.

So let’s get to work. In collaboration with the Mayor and the Nicosia City Council, by being present in the neighborhoods, by standing up for what we believe in, and with a clear goal: fewer words, more work, and results for Aglantzia.
