Turkey’s ongoing crime cannot be subject to a statute of limitations, cannot be forgiven, and cannot be covered up, says Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos, marking the 52nd anniversary of the second phase of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
In a post on the “X” platform on Friday, the very day marking the start of Phase II of the Turkish invasion, Mr. Kompos states that Famagusta, Morphou, the displaced, the heroic fallen, and the missing do not allow us to forget the consequences of the Turkish invasion and the ongoing occupation.
“Fifty-two years since the second phase of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Turkey’s ongoing crime is not subject to a statute of limitations, is not forgiven, and is not covered up,” he states, specifically.
“Famagusta, Morphou, those who were uprooted, and our heroic fallen and missing do not allow us to forget,” he adds.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs concludes that “the struggle for the liberation and reunification of our Cyprus continues. Until justice is served.”
