A few more outdoor events, with the squares turning into cultural gathering spots. Let’s take a look at some suggestions for the week from September 27 through October 4.
Achilles’ Fiancée
The play, which has been performed for three consecutive years to great acclaim at the “Metaxourgeio,” as well as on tour in cities across Greece and abroad, is coming to the Rialto Theater on the evening of Sunday, September 27. Yasemi Kilaidon delivers a powerful monologue about the story of a generation that, during the turbulent decades of modern Greek history (1940–1970) chose, at great cost, to change the world. The production is directed by Fotis Makris.

She
The 3rd Festival “The One Who Climbs the Hill, Creates, and Stands Out” takes place on Sunday, September 27, at the Kaimakli Linear Park, dedicated to the women who stood up against gender-based violence.
The program includes an art exhibition on the theme of gender-based violence, a women’s empowerment workshop, and a discussion with Skevi Koukouma about the women of 1974. At the same time, female artists will have their own platform for expression through art, music, and dance.
The Echo of Cyprus
As part of the 2026 Nicosia International Festival, the Press and Information Office (PIO) will present the premiere of the documentary film “Echoes of Cyprus” (Echoes of Cyprus), based on research by ethnomusicologist Dr. Nikoletta Dimitriou and directed by Danae Stylianou.
The Return of Iphigenia
The Municipality of Strovolos concludes this year’s series of events, “Culture in Every Neighborhood,” with the musical theater performance “The Return of Iphigenia,” on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., at the Caves of Acropolis Park.
An original theatrical and musical production, inspired by Yannis Ritsos’s work of the same name, where poetry meets live music and the spoken word coexists creatively with sound. Actress Varvara Christofi interprets the text through emotional and vocal variations, while musician Dimitris Spyrou creates soundscapes on stage using live looping techniques.
Hermes Fest
The ERMIS Café, in collaboration with the ERMIS Cultural Association of Aradippou, is organizing the ERMIS FEST once again this year, which returns in full force following the success of previous editions. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, October 1, at Apostolos Loukas Square, in the parking lot.
The evening will kick off with the traditional skate parade, which will wind through the picturesque narrow streets and alleys of Aradippou, kicking off a grand, all-night celebration.
TECHNOPOLIS 20 JAZZ FESTIVAL
Technopolis 20, in collaboration with the Petrideio Foundation and the Municipality of Paphos, presents the first “TECHNOPOLIS 20 JAZZ FESTIVAL.” For two days, Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3, 2026, Ibrahim’s Hani, in the historic center of Paphos, will become a gathering place for jazz lovers, with two days filled with music, improvisation, creativity, and unique collaborations.
Buffer Fringe
The Buffer Fringe Performing Arts Festival, organized by the House of Collaboration, returns on October 2, 3, and 4. This edition returns to the roots of what makes Buffer Fringe the festival it is: a
space for those who “dare to question.”

David and Goliath
An entertaining and thought-provoking dance-theater performance of “gigantic” proportions for all ages, created by two prominent artists, is coming to the Nicosia International Festival on October 3. On stage are the renowned Argentine actor Tomás Pozzi and Ian Garside himself, who conceived and directed the production.
The Corridor
The new work by international choreographer Fotis Nikolaou, exploring grief, memory, resistance, identity, and the power of art to transcend individual experience, comes to the Nicosia International Festival on October 4, following its presentation at the Athens Festival.
