“Cyprus Theater Week 2026” was successfully concluded; the event took place from September 16 to 20 at the Dipylon Theater in Athens, featuring three productions of contemporary Cypriot theater in a total of four performances.
“Cyprus Theater Week 2026” was organized by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Cyprus Center of the International Theater Institute (CCIT), in collaboration with the National Theater and with the support of the House of Cyprus in Athens.
This year’s fourth edition of “Cypriot Theater Week” presented three productions that differed in terms of theme, aesthetics, and stage approach, highlighting the diversity and creative dynamism of contemporary Cypriot theater. The following productions were presented:
- Angelika Nikli Solomou’s *Diafani* by Periklis Moscholidakis, directed by Marina Vronti and produced by the Lexis Theater.
- *Which Europe?* by Michalis Papadopoulos, directed by Neoklis Neokleous and produced by the AntiLogos Theater and the “Solo for Three” theater group.
- *The Island* by Achilleas Grammatikopoulos and Michalis Kolokotronis, directed by Achilleas Grammatikopoulos and produced by the Limassol Theater Development Company (ETHAL), in collaboration with Point To Contemporary Theater.
The response from the Athenian audience was particularly enthusiastic. The high demand for the opening production, *Angelika Nikli Solomou*, *The Transparent*, led to the initial performance selling out and the addition of a second performance on the same day.
It was particularly encouraging that the thematic and artistic diversity of the three productions attracted a different audience to each performance, thereby broadening the overall impact of the “Cypriot Theater Week” in Athens.
Upon the event’s conclusion, the official aftermovie was created, capturing memorable moments from the four performances and the warm reception the Cypriot theater groups received from the Athenian audience.

The organizers extend their heartfelt thanks to the creators and cast members of the three productions, the partners and organizations that actively supported the event, as well as the audience that embraced the performances.
“Cypriot Theater Week” aims to strengthen the presence of contemporary Cypriot theater in Greece and to serve as a stable platform for cultural exchange, artistic communication, and creative dialogue between Cyprus and Greece.
