This Week's Cultural Calendar

Summer is over, but cultural events continue, both indoors and outdoors. Let’s take a look at some of the events from today, September 6, through Saturday, September 12.

The Labyrinths of Kourousis

The Limassol Municipal Arts Center – Papadakis Warehouses presents the exhibition Nikos Kourousis: Labyrinths, a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the artist’s multifaceted practice. The exhibition brings together paintings, videos, functional sculptures, installations, archival material, and film footage, exploring the images, ideas, and processes that have shaped Kourousis’s work across different periods and forms.

Explicit at the Rialto

The Rialto Theater presents EXPLICIT, a new three-day film tribute to be held from September 7 to 9, 2026, aiming to re-examine and creatively reflect on films that challenged, questioned, and expanded the boundaries of cinematic expression.

Vlachos and Mouzourakis

Panos Mouzourakis and Panos Vlachos will perform live together for the first time in Cyprus at the Marios Tokas Garden Theater in Limassol on September 10.

The Mountain Again

Louiza Papaloizou’s award-winning novel is adapted for the stage, adapted and directed by Maria Kyriakou, bringing to life the world of Xeni, Kori, and the Swede in a poetic setting where memory, loss, and the search for identity intersect.

Giota Nega at the Episkopeio

Giota Nega is coming to Cyprus for a major tribute to Greek song. Songs by renowned Greek composers and the singer’s own favorite hits will fill the Cultural Stage of the Holy Metropolis of Tamassos and Oreini.

Giota Nega will present a musical evening dedicated to the most significant moments in Greek music on Saturday, September 12, at the Bishop’s Palace in Nicosia.

Premiere of “Goodbye,” Lindita

The Nicosia International Festival opens with the production that has captivated audiences and critics around the world. After winning the Silver Lion at the Venice Theater Biennale, Mario Banoussi is coming to Nicosia.

*Goodbye, Lindita, one of the most distinctive theatrical events in contemporary European theater, focuses on a fundamental human experience: the loss of a loved one. Inside a house, a family mourns in silence, until a series of almost transcendent events opens a window onto a world where memory intertwines with imagination and reality with dreams. Drawing inspiration from his personal experiences and memories of Balkan funeral rites, Mario Banoussi, together with a cast of exceptional actors, explores—in solemn silence—an inescapable aspect of existence.

Antama Festival

The Antama Festival returns for a two-day event dedicated to Cypriot tradition, music, the arts, and community. For yet another year, the Nicosia Municipal Garden is transformed into a vibrant gathering place, hosting musical groups from Cyprus and Greece, traditional workshops, discussions, dances, and culinary delights that bridge the past and the present.

• Saturday, September 12, 2026 | 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

• Sunday, September 13, 2026 | 3:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

United Street Festival

The United Street Festival returns in full force on September 12 & 13, 2026, at Eleftherias Square in Nicosia.

The United Street Festival has now established itself as one of the city’s most vibrant and up-and-coming events, showcasing contemporary creativity, music, and urban culture. It is a two-day festival that brings together art, design, music, street food, and lifestyle experiences, creating a unique gathering place for people of all ages.
