On Wednesday afternoon, September 9, the news of the sudden death of Giorgos Mazonakis, one of the most recognizable and successful artists on the Greek music scene, caused shock and deep sorrow.
The singer passed away at the age of just 54. According to initial reports, he was transported by an EKAV ambulance to Elpis Hospital, where doctors attempted to save his life but were unsuccessful. The cause of death is reported as cardiac arrest.
