Simba Animal Aid continues every day to provide care, safety, and, above all, a second chance to dogs in need. Behind every rescue, every treatment, and every adoption, however, lies a massive and ongoing effort that requires the support of the community to continue.
The number of dogs in need of help is increasing dramatically year after year, creating ever-greater needs for food, veterinary care, medication, transportation, and daily care. Faced with this reality, Simba Animal Aid is stepping up its efforts, both in Cyprus and abroad, with a clear goal: to help as many dogs as possible find the home and family they deserve.

DOG FEST: Two days dedicated to our four-legged friends
On September 19 and 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the State Fair, at Pavilion 6, will host DOGfest – A Festival for Dog Lovers, a two-day celebration dedicated to our beloved four-legged friends. The event offers yet another opportunity for the public to get closer to dogs and learn just how important their own contribution can be to the life of an animal in need.
RUN & PAWS: Running for the Shelter Dogs
The power of the community is also evident in the RUN & PAWS initiative, organized by RUN & ROAST in collaboration with Simba Animal Aid. On September 26, at 8:45 a.m., runners, walkers, and leashed dogs can participate in 3-km and 5-km routes, meeting at Qboo Artisan Bakery. After the run and coffee, participants will head to the Simba Animal Aid shelter, where they’ll have the chance to spend time with the dogs, take them for a walk, and learn firsthand about the organization’s work. The participation fee is €10, with 100% of the proceeds going directly toward food and medical care for the shelter’s dogs.
The need is growing—and with it, our support must grow as well. These initiatives take different forms but share the same goal: to give as many dogs as possible the chance at a better life.
However, for Simba Animal Aid to continue meeting its daily needs, it needs the public’s help. The shelter’s needs are never-ending. Every donation, every adoption, every volunteer effort, and every share counts. Because behind every number is an animal waiting.
35 puppies are looking for a family—full coverage of the adoption package
Another important initiative is currently underway, as the Municipality of Nicosia has announced a Dog Adoption Grant Program, which fully covers the adoption package for 35 puppies currently housed at the Temporary Dog Shelter operated by the municipalities of Nicosia, Strovolos, and Lakatamia. The puppies will be handed over spayed or neutered and with a fully up-to-date health record, giving 35 families the opportunity to welcome a new member into their home. Those interested can contact SIMBA ANIMAL AID LTD at 99657631 for information about the available puppies and to schedule a visit. The goal is simple yet meaningful: 35 puppies, 35 homes, 35 new lives.
15 dogs are traveling to England for a new life
At the same time, efforts to find families are not limited to Cyprus alone. On Sunday, 15 dogs are leaving for England—following interest and requests from abroad—to start a new chapter in their lives. For Simba Animal Aid, every such departure is of special significance. It is the result of a long chain of people working to ensure that a dog found without a home can finally find a family of its own.
