An end of an era for the Norwegian monarchy: King Harald V of Norway passed away at the age of 89 on the morning of Friday, August 28, 2026. According to a statement from the Palace, he passed away peacefully at 6:35 a.m. at Rikshospitalet, the National Hospital in Oslo, where he had been hospitalized since August 17.
