Greek soccer is following in the footsteps of Giannis Konstantelias, as is Borussia Dortmund, with the Greek soccer player leaving PAOK to move to Germany to play for the Westphalians.
“Delias” will wear the yellow jersey until 2031 and will sport the number 45 on his back. However, this choice came as a surprise to many, as quite a few people expected the Greek soccer player to choose the “65” he wore at PAOK.
However, that wasn’t possible, as Bundesliga regulations allow players to choose numbers from 1 through 49.
It’s worth noting that, among other numbers, Konstantelias—who became widely known for wearing “65”— had also worn “7” at PAOK, among other numbers, while during his time with the national team, he has worn, among others, 17, 18, 19, and 20.
