Despite the lopsided 120-83 victory over Manresa in the Liga Endesa, Real Madrid has reason to be concerned, as Gabriel Deck is expected to undergo surgery due to a problem with his left shoulder.
According to Spanish journalist Pilar Casado, surgery is on the table, with the Argentine forward expected to be sidelined for about 5 months, provided that timeline is confirmed.
Deck had already missed the EuroLeague games against Partizan and the match against Manresa, as the shoulder injury proved to be more serious than initially thought. In fact, following the victory over the Catalans, Real’s head coach, Pedro Martínez, admitted that the situation is more concerning than initially thought, though he does not yet know the exact treatment plan.
If the five-month absence is confirmed, it will be a major blow for “La Reina,” which will be without one of its key players for an extended period during a demanding season featuring commitments in Spain and the EuroLeague.
