Netflix is making a strong entrance into the World Cup broadcast landscape, as it will exclusively broadcast all matches of the 2030 World Cup in Spain and Andorra. The tournament will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup, which was held in 1930 in Uruguay.
Spain will co-host the 2030 tournament with Morocco and Portugal, with Netflix offering full live coverage of all matches in both countries, including pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows.
“Few events bring people together like the World Cup,” said Bella Bazzaria, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer. “This year, I was in the stands as Spain lifted the trophy, and I witnessed the passion, the pride, the stories — all of which become part of a nation’s culture and remain in the memory of generations. With Spain set to host the 2030 World Cup, we’re excited to bring every match to fans across Spain and Andorra on Netflix,” he concluded.
Where will the 2030 World Cup be held?
Morocco, Portugal, and Spain are the official hosts of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first tournament, Uruguay (the host and champion of 1930), Argentina (the 1930 runner-up), and Paraguay (the headquarters of CONMEBOL, the only confederation in 1930) will each host a match to celebrate the centennial.
“For Spanish soccer fans, welcoming the world as champions on Netflix will make this moment unique,” Bazzaria went on to emphasize. “And our expanding partnership with FIFA, including the Women’s World Cup in 2027 and 2031 in the U.S. and Canada, reflects our ongoing commitment to bringing fans closer to the world’s greatest sporting moments.”
In addition, Netflix will exclusively stream the FIFA Women’s World Cup in the United States and Canada in 2027 and 2031.
