Bad luck just won’t stop “striking” Konstantinos Karetsas. Almost as soon as he entered the field as a substitute for Union Berlin – Borussia Dortmund (10/17) match for the 6th round of the Bundesliga, he had to leave the game due to an injury.
After a challenge for the ball with Rani Khedira, the Greek attacking midfielder found himself on the ground, appearing to be in a great deal of pain. The “Yellows’” captain, Nico Schlotterbeck, began calling for a substitution and assistance from the medical staff. In fact, Karetsas had to be helped off the field, as he was unable to walk.
His condition will obviously be assessed, with further updates on his health expected. Initial reports from German media, however, indicate that he twisted his ankle, which forced him to leave the field.

It should be noted that Konstantinos Karetsas had previously been sidelined before the international break, while the other Greek player from Westphalia, Giannis Konstantelias, has been sidelined for an extended period following the cruciate ligament tear he suffered in late August.
