An unbelievable and mind-boggling comeback by Elversberg, and a heroic comeback for Dortmund as well

Everything that happened in the Bundesliga
ALPHANEWSLIVE

Borussia Dortmund came back from the “brink of defeat” as Guirassy worked his magic to secure a 2-2 draw against Hoffenheim. Elversberg lost, but continues to earn admiration.

In its debut season in the Bundesliga, Elversberg is making sure the world takes notice, admires it, cheers it on, and learns more about the team!

The biggest surprise of this year’s German league—following its triumph over Leverkusen in the season opener— managed to take all three points from the match against Gladbach with a fairy-tale comeback! They had to come back from a 3-1 deficit in the 56th minute, tie the game at 3-3 with an amazing free kick by Kiedel in the 80th minute, and secure the win in stoppage time with Kratenmacher’s right-footed shot (4-3).

Hoffenheim could have scored more goals beyond their temporary 2-0 lead against Borussia Dortmund and ended the match having dominated for 60 minutes, but Girassi was determined not to leave the field as the loser. And he didn’t just keep his team in the game—he inspired them to pull off a comeback victory!

Abdullah’s magnificent right-footed shot in the 45th minute and Lamberi’s goal off a deflection in the 54th minute put the home team ahead, but Kovac’s team responded in spectacular fashion! A cool lob by Girasi in the 61st minute, followed by superb control and a through ball to Soares, who in the 66th minute tied the game at 2-2 with a diagonal shot to bring Dortmund back into the match.

And having come that far, the Westphalian club celebrated the comeback with a goal by Nuaneiri and an own goal by Hajdari in the 87th minute (3-2). Karetsas played for 62 minutes and was back in his team’s starting lineup.

After suffering a setback in the season opener against the formidable Elversberg, unleashed a 4-0 rout of Union Berlin to secure its first win of the new season.

Werder Bremen also had reason to smile after earning three points with a 3-1 victory over Leipzig, while Freiburg needed just one goal to make it two wins out of two in the new Bundesliga, overcoming Paderborn’s resistance (1-0).
