AEK will face Volos on Sunday without Barnabas Varga, as the Hungarian forward suffered a muscle injury during the match against Panserraikos. Exams revealed that it is a strain, confirming initial assessments of a muscle injury.
Varga has already begun a rehabilitation program, with the main goal of taking advantage of the break to return to match fitness as soon as possible. AEK’s next match is scheduled for October 10, when the “Union” will host OFI in Nea Filadelfia.
Whether the Hungarian forward will be ready for that match will depend on how his recovery progresses over the next few days. If his recovery progresses as hoped, he’ll be available to Marco Nikolić; otherwise, he may have to wait a little longer before returning to action.
