A spectacular “yellow-and-black” campaign is being organized by AEK fans in England, as within just six days, AEK will play two important away matches in the Champions League, first against Shakhtar Donetsk and then against Manchester City.
The first match will take place on October 14 at Stamford Bridge, where AEK will face Shakhtar in the second matchday of the group stage. Fan interest is very high, with approximately 6,000 tickets already sold out for this match.
Demand remains particularly high, and efforts are underway to secure additional seats for AEK fans. If this proves possible, the turnout of AEK fans in London is expected to be even greater, creating one of the team’s largest away trips in recent years.
Even faster were the tickets for the October 20 match against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, which sold out in no time. The approximately 3,000 tickets made available to AEK fans sold out in just one hour, confirming the enormous interest in the match against Enzo Maresca’s team.
AEK FC is making efforts to secure more tickets for the game in Manchester as well; however, in this case, the scope for a significant increase in the number of available seats is more limited.
Based on current figures, more than 9,000 tickets have already been allocated in total for the two matches in England, and the number could reach or even exceed 10,000 if additional seats are secured.
The initiative includes not only AEK fans traveling from Greece but also many who live permanently abroad. In fact, the short time between the two matches allows many to combine London and Manchester into a single trip, with a particularly strong showing by the “yellow-and-blacks” expected at both stadiums.
