AEL continues its upward trajectory, having defeated Omonia 29 May 2-1 at the “Alfamega Stadium” and confirming that it has lofty goals for this year’s championship.
Hugo Martins’ team has now firmly established itself near the top of the standings, with four wins and one loss in its first five matches. With 12 points, the “Lions” are in second place, tied at the top with AEK.
AEL’s only loss came against APOEL, but the way they bounced back afterward shows they know how to handle setbacks and get back on track with positive results.
Now, the Limassol side must demonstrate character and consistency, maintaining the same pace and continuing to rack up points. Their performance so far has raised expectations, but what’s needed is consistency, so that the team can prove in practice that its goals for this season can go hand in hand with its position among the top teams.
AEL’s next challenge is a home match against Omonia Aradippou this coming Sunday, October 18, at 6:00 p.m. The “blue-and-yellows” want to take advantage of their home field and add three more points to their tally, staying on track for the top of the table.
