The eventful Game 5 of this year’s Stoiximan GBL Finals and the “heated” incident involving Nan and Jones—who came to blows in the hallway leading to the locker rooms, with the Olympiacos player attempting to punch his opponent—resulted in penalties.
More specifically, Tyrick Jones was suspended for a total of 7 games due to a repeat offense and was also fined a total of 54,000 euros.
Cedric Nan will miss two of Panathinaikos’s games and will pay 4,000 euros for his disciplinary offense of abusive behavior.
Of course, the two basketball players are also required to pay fines, while the penalty imposed on Panathinaikos BC and Olympiacos BC—involving a deduction of points—is of particular significance.
As announced, they will start the new Stoiximan GBL season for the 2026–2027 sports year with a -2 point deficit, and they were also fined 100,000 euros.
