With the deal to sign Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid heading toward a “failure” and the pressure of time mounting, Barcelona is forced to turn to other options to bolster its attack.
According to reports from the Spanish media outlet “Mundo Deportivo,” Hansi Flick’s team is turning its attention to Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus, as the Brazilian forward has fallen behind in the pecking order among the Gunners’ strikers and is very open to a move to Barcelona!
The “Blaugrana” appear to be in advanced negotiations with the London club, naturally taking advantage of the fact that the player’s contract with the English champions expires next summer.
Since the summer of 2022, when he was signed by Arsenal, the 29-year-old international forward has tallied a total of 32 goals and 22 assists in 123 appearances for the “Gunners” across all competitions.
However, it should be noted that the Spanish media outlet in question makes it clear that a potential signing of Jesús does not put the brakes on Barcelona’s plans for Álvarez, since, ideally, they could sign both of them!
