Manchester City secured a 1-0 victory over Coventry in the third matchday of the Premier League, with Erling Haaland scoring the game’s only goal in the 26th minute with a header, helping his team make it three wins out of three in the league.

The “Citizens” had complete control of possession, reaching as high as 82%, but they were unable to “seal” the game. In fact, it took several key saves by Gianluigi Donnarumma—especially in the second half—to preserve their lead.

Haaland found the back of the net again in the 58th minute, but his goal was disallowed for offside, with City ultimately holding on to the 1-0 lead until the final whistle, avoiding a slip-up despite the promoted side’s promising moments; the newcomers remain without a point after three matches.

Brighton and Leeds shared the points, with the two teams drawing 1-1 at the “Amex” in the third round of the Premier League. Babis Kostoulas started for Brighton and played the entire match.

Leeds took the lead in the 15th minute on a goal by Jaden Bogle, but Brighton fought back in the second half and equalized in the 71st minute, with Luka Vuskovic scoring to make it 1-1.

The home team had possession and most of the shots on goal, but Leeds were particularly dangerous on the chances they created and held on for the draw until the end. After three matches, Brighton now has 4 points, while Leeds has 5 and remains undefeated in the league.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham played to a 0-0 draw at City Ground, continuing their winless streaks in the Premier League.

Tottenham had the possession and the most attacking opportunities, but failed to find the back of the net, with Dominic Solanke missing a great chance in the 88th minute. As a result, they went winless for a third consecutive game and failed to score (1 point). For its part, Forest earned its second point of the season.

Meanwhile, in a match with several lead changes, Crystal Palace defeated Fulham 3-2 at Craven Cottage in the third round of Premier League action.

Fulham took the lead twice in the first half, with King scoring in the 11th minute and Pérez in the 42nd, but Palace had the answers. Mitchell equalized in the 35th minute, and in the second half, he scored his second goal of the match in the 54th minute.

The comeback was complete in the 77th minute, when Chilwell sealed the 3-2 victory for Crystal Palace, who left London with three crucial points, marking… their first win after two losses in the opening rounds. Fulham remains at “0” points.

Finally, Brentford and Sunderland drew 1-1, with Janelt opening the scoring in the 57th minute and Le Fe equalizing on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute. The “Bees” have reached 5 points and remain undefeated, while the “Black Cats” have 4 points.
