Valencia decided to make a coaching change after its terrible start to the La Liga season. The first person they approached was Ernesto Valverde, who turned down the offer and is reportedly considering retiring from coaching.
The next name on the list was José Luis Medilibar, who, according to Spanish media, has also turned down the “Bats.”
The former coach of the “Red-and-Whites” does not seem willing to take over at Valencia, and all signs point to the replacement for Carlos Corberán, yet another coach who has sat on the Piraeus club’s bench, will be Javier Aguirre.
The 68-year-old Mexican has given his consent and is now in more advanced talks to reach an agreement with the historic Spanish club.
Change on the Valencia bench: Mendilibar reportedly initially turned down the offer, and Javier Aguirre is now a strong favorite to take the job.

Javier Aguirre will be named Valencia’s head coach in the coming days
Key point: He wanted to come, unlike Valverde and Mendilibar, who told Braulio
“no.”
I think it’s a good short-term solution—one of the best—but I’m not entirely convinced in the long run. What
