Carlos Alcaraz celebrated his third title of the year and the 27th of his career on Tuesday afternoon (October 6)!
The Spanish tennis player defeated Jiri Lehecka 2-0 in sets (7-6, 6-4) over Jiri Lehecka after an hour and 37 minutes of play, winning the Japan Open in Tokyo for the second consecutive season!
Tonight’s victory marked the 23-year-old star’s first title since returning to competition following a hand injury that sidelined him for several months, and he has now shown that he is in good form heading into the season finale.
To secure the victory, Alcaraz had to put in a lot of effort in the first set and “bounce back” the game he lost at the start of the match, taking the tiebreak 7-4 to go up 1-0. The second set also turned into a close contest, with the young Spaniard breaking the Czech’s serve to make it 4-3, ultimately winning the set 6-4.
