The new women’s volleyball season kicks off in spectacular fashion, with the final of the 2026–2027 Allwyn Super Cup, which will take place on Monday, October 19, at 8:00 p.m., featuring Olympiada Neapolis and RoboMarkets AEL.
One week before their showdown on the court, the coaches and captains of both teams shared their thoughts at a press conference held on the morning of Monday, October 12, in the Allwyn “Eu Agonizesthai” Hall at the Olympic Hall.
The welcome address was given by KOPE President Dr. Kostas Konstantinou, who wished both finalists of the tournament, as well as all teams, every success ahead of the new season.
The Allwyn Women’s Super Cup, like its men’s counterpart, will be broadcast live on RIK HD and simultaneously streamed online via AlfaSports.tv, marking the launch of KOPE’s partnership with Unitrust Media Network regarding the television and online rights to the Federation’s events for the 2026–2028 period.
Next, the coaches and captains of the two teams took the floor and made the following remarks:
Alexandros Kamperidis (Coach of Olympiada Neapolis): “I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to last year’s roster, which earned us the right to compete in this Super Cup. I wish all the teams a great season; I know what AEL means to Cypriot volleyball. I hope it turns out to be a really great match and that the team that’s on its best form wins. It’s very positive that many matches will be televised, so that we can reach homes across Cyprus and be seen by a wider audience.”
Piper Matsumoto (Captain of Olympiada Neapolis): “I’m happy to be here and to play in Cyprus with the Olympiada team. All of us at the club are looking forward to the start of the new season and to seeing what we can achieve.”
Pasqualino Giangrosi (Coach of RoboMarkets AEL): “It’s a great honor for us to kick off the new season in Cyprus by participating in the Super Cup. I expect us to play a great game, and we want to give our fans the joy of winning the first title of the season. Above all, however, I want to wish everyone good health and a very successful season for all the teams. I hope they do their best to advance the sport in Cyprus.”
Tatiana Moundritskaya Georgiou (Captain of RoboMarkets AEL): “The last time AEL won the Super Cup was in 2012. We want to fight hard and do everything we can to bring the title to our city, Limassol. I wish all the teams the best of luck for the new season.”
