Rafael Leão is on his way out of Milan, with the Portuguese attacking midfielder set to leave his beloved Milan.
Ruben Amorim is now at the helm of the team, and the former Manchester United coach has hinted in recent comments that Leão is unlikely to remain on Milan’s roster for the upcoming season.
“In soccer, there sometimes comes a time when you have to move on. It’s part of every player’s career, and we have to be ready to deal with such situations,” the Portuguese coach said.
Last season, the 27-year-old had a mediocre campaign, scoring 10 goals and recording just three assists in 31 appearances. This season, therefore, could mark a new chapter in his career, should he ultimately decide to leave the “Rossoneri.”
Here’s what Ruben Amorim had to say in detail: “There
are only five days left until the transfer window closes, and then we’ll discuss it. It’s hard to talk about it now, but I promise we’ll discuss it at the next press conference. Leão is a very strong player.
With the right mindset, he could play for any team. But you have to have the right mindset, and sometimes in soccer there comes a moment when it’s better to move on. And that’s the situation we’re in today.”
