Shortly after the announcement that Tasos Hatzigiovanis was leaving Omonia, OFI, in turn, announced the signing of the player through the end of the current season.
In detail: “OFH 1925 FC announces the signing of international soccer player, Tassos Hatzigiovannis, from Omonia Nicosia, who has signed a contract with our team through the summer of 2027.
The 29-year-old forward (born May 31, 1997, Mytilene) took his first steps in soccer in the Panathinaikos youth academy, and later played for the first team, with which he won the Greek Cup (2022). With the “Greens,” he made a total of 167 appearances (including four in the UEFA Europa League) and scored 17 goals.
After his time at Panathinaikos, he played in Turkey, first for MKE Ankaragücü (71 appearances, 7 goals) and then for Eyüpspor (6 appearances), from which he was loaned to Asteras AKTOR (12 appearances, 2 goals).
With Omonia Nicosia, he won the Cypriot league title (2025–26), making a total of 45 appearances in domestic and European competitions. In the current season, while playing for the Cypriot team, he has appeared in six official matches across the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers, the league, and the Super Cup.
He has earned caps with the Men’s National Team (15 appearances) and the U-21 team (12 appearances).
