And it’s official… Imran Louza is now a Panathinaikos player! The Moroccan international midfielder is officially a Panathinaikos player, as the “Clover” announced his signing from Watford on a three-year contract.
Louza, who had previously posed in a Panathinaikos jersey, is set to provide a high-quality option for Jacob Nistrup’s squad and immediately fills the void left by Adam Cerin, who left to continue his career at Al-Wahda.
We’d like to remind you that Louza has been in Athens for just the past 24 hours and will wear the No. 26 jersey.
The club’s announcement:
“Panathinaikos FC announces the signing of Imran Louza. The 27-year-old Moroccan midfielder joined Panathinaikos on a transfer from England’s Watford and signed a three-year contract.
Imran Louza was born on May 1, 1999, in Nantes, France. At the age of seven, he joined the Nantes academy, where he progressed through all stages of his soccer training, serving as captain for several of the club’s youth teams. In January 2019, he made his professional debut with the first team in a French Cup match against Châteauroux, even scoring in his very first appearance.
In the summer of 2021, after two seasons in which he played a key role for Nantes with 66 appearances and 12 goals, he transferred to Watford. With the English club, he played in both the Premier League and the Championship, serving as a key member of their midfield.
In January 2024, he returned to France to play for Lorient, where he was on loan until the end of the season, before returning to Watford, with whom he played two more full seasons. In total, he made 141 appearances, scored 15 goals, and recorded 22 assists for the English club.
At the national team level, Louza played for both the youth national teams of Morocco and France. However, in 2021, he definitively chose to represent Morocco at the senior level, making his debut in October of that year against Guinea-Bissau and scoring in his first appearance. He has played 15 times for the Moroccan national team.
We welcome Imran to the Panathinaikos family.”
