Liverpool, especially after the departure of Ibrahima Konaté, had a huge gap in the center of its defense, which Ronald Araújo is set to fill.
The “Reds” announced the signing of the Uruguayan center back, whom they acquired on a one-year loan from Barcelona.
It’s a transfer that took quite a while to materialize, as the French center back left Anfield several weeks ago, bound for Madrid and Real Madrid; but Iraola will now have his replacement at his disposal, just a few days before the opening match of the new Premier League season.
The 27-year-old center back made a total of 38 appearances last season, scoring four goals.
We have agreed to a deal to sign Ronald Araujo on loan from FC Barcelona for the 2026–27 season, subject to a successful work permit application and international clearance
