Andreas Christensen will remain a Barcelona resident for the next two years, as Barcelona has extended his contract through the summer of 2028.

The Danish center back, who had also “featured” in Panathinaikos’s coverage at one point, though mainly due to the presence of Jacob Nistrup on the bench, has been with the “Blaugrana” since the summer of 2022, arriving from Chelsea on a free transfer.

Since then, Christensen has made 98 appearances for Barcelona in all official competitions, and has been a key member of the starting lineup.

In the season that just ended, however, the 30-year-old center back made just 18 appearances, with 17 of those coming at the start of the season, before he was sidelined by a serious injury.
