A setback due to injuries to Jeremi Pino and Nico Williams in Spain during the match against Uruguay for the third matchday of Group H of the World Cup.
According to the RFEF’s official medical statement, both sustained “moderately serious” injuries against the “Celeste” and remain at the “Roja” training center, where their condition will be assessed daily.
In Pino’s case, an X-ray ruled out the possibility of a fracture, with the winger from the Canary Islands simply suffering from a sprain in the acromioclavicular joint of his shoulder.
As for the Bilbao forward, he suffered a muscle injury to his right adductor.
The Spanish Football Federation clarified that the two players’ return to action will depend on the progress of their recovery over the next few days. Although both remain sidelined from training, the test results have raised hopes that they will be able to participate in the European champions’ knockout matches.
