The U.S. Open has concluded, with Alexander Zverev and Elena Rybakina emerging as the singles champions in the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively.
The German tennis player (9,690 points) took advantage of Yannick Sinner’s absence (11,500 points) from the tournament to close in even further on the world No. 1, while now, Carlos Alcaraz (5,560 points) is too far behind to pose a threat to his No. 2 spot.
As for Stefanos Tsitsipas (1,165 points), despite his very strong performance at the US Open, the Greek player neither moved up nor down in the world rankings and remained in 44th place, tied with Matteo Berrettini in 43rd.
The other Greek athlete, however, saw a significant rise. We’re talking about Stefanos Sakellaridis (429 points), who, although he didn’t manage to qualify for the main draw of the US Open, continues to perform well. As a result, he was rewarded with a two-spot rise in the world rankings and is currently ranked No. 134, with hopes of breaking into the Top 130 soon.

The Standings in Women’s Tennis
Elena Rybakina (9,901 points) defeated Arina Sabalenka (7,875 points) in the US Open final, thereby climbing to the top of the WTA world rankings.
The Kazakhstani tennis player dethroned the Belarusian athlete from the No. 1 spot, and from now on, the former world No. 1 will have to be particularly careful, as third-ranked Jessica Pegula (7,265 points) and fourth-ranked Coco Gauff (7,244 points) are closing in on her.
Following the U.S. Open, Maria Sakkari (1,355 points) also climbed in the world rankings. The Greek tennis player showed improvement in New York and climbed two spots, now ranking 33rd. However, she will need to keep an eye on Nikola Bartunkova, who is ranked 34th and has 1,352 points.
