As expected, Stefanos Tsitsipas’s opening match at the U.S. Open will be difficult and demanding.
On Thursday evening (August 27), the draw for the U.S. Grand Slam took place, and the Greek tennis player learned who his opponent would be in the first round of the tournament.
The draw did not go in Tsitsipas’s favor, as the 27-year-old tennis player (No. 53 in the world) will face 21-year-old Frenchman Arthur Fils, with the young player currently ranked No. 11 in the world.
In fact, just a few days ago, Fils claimed his first title at a 1000-level tournament, defeating Tiafoe in the final of the Cincinnati Open.
As for the head-to-head history between the two players, they have faced each other a total of five times in the past, with the Frenchman holding an equal number of wins over Tsitsipas.
